EVENT: Sacred Texts: Three Religious Traditions in Twenty-Five Words or Less
April 14, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm PDT
$75
Judaism is a parent religion of Christianity and Islam; Torah is a parent scripture of New Testament and Quran. All three scriptures have powerful opening paragraphs. Each offers a complete life-philosophy, telling us where the world is going, what is good, and what sort of God is at work. Not surprisingly, Torah sets the tone, while the the others riff off Torah’s views. As a group, we’ll explore these three opening paragraphs. Through lecture, text study, and discussion we’ll explore our kin monotheistic traditions, discover their novel directions, and refine our own philosophies of life. Led by Laura Duhan Kaplan at Limmud Vancouver. (The $75 registration fee covers the full 1.5 day Limmud Experience!)
