DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week\, we cordially invite you to the 2019 Interfaith Music & Spoken Word Concert! Join us for the free event on Saturday\, February 2\, 2019. Doors open at 5:00pm for tours of the church. Program starts at 7pm.  We invite you to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Surrey Food Bank.\n\nLaura Duhan-Kaplan and Charles Kaplan will perform the following two pieces:\n\nSPOKEN WORD: Infinite God: Two Short Poems by Solomon ibn Gabirol\nMedieval Jewish philosopher and liturgical poet Solomon ibn Gabirol (1022-1070) used strict poetic meter to describe God’s infinity. Listen to “Three Things” in Hebrew\, followed by Laura’s original translations of “Three Things” and “God’s Royal Crown.”\n\nMUSIC: Yah Ribon: God\, Master of the Universe\n\nAn Aramaic poem by Israel Najara (1555-1625)\, based on the words of the Biblical prophet Daniel\, praising God and asking for divine protection. The middle eastern melody was arranged by the Klezmatics and rearranged by Charles.
